I offer freelance support to organisations or individuals in need of help with online and offline marketing and communications.
Recent freelance projects include developing marketing and brand strategy for London Chamber Orchestra, supporting the development and marketing of In Tameside, working with LIME Arts to help promote their work within the NHS, stepping in as temporary Digital Communications Manager at HOME, editing and creating content for Time Out Manchester, rehearsal and production photographer for the play 'Thunder Girls', and making a 14 minute documentary for Manchester Health and Care Commissioning.

My regular clients include Result CIC where I am the Marketing Manager, DaDa - Deaf and Disability Arts where I am a Trustee and Marketing Advisor, and Time Out where I am a content creator and editor.
My professional background has been within arts and cultural institutions and publications. I edited Time Out Manchester and Leeds, headed up digital marketing with Manchester International Festival, was a part of the team which opened The Lowryand also worked at Cornerhouse, now HOME. I taught at Manchester Metropolitan University in Film Studies for 3 years, I also have my own photography / video business, Rob Martin Photography. Most of the images throughout this site are my own, including the shot of the band The xx above, taken as part of their residency at Manchester International Festival in 2013.
In 2021 I published my first book, Joe and Dusty Save the World.
